Autopia Tours (tel (03) 9419 8878 or 1800 000 507; website www.autopiatours.com.au) is a tour company in the same mould as Wildlife Tours and the Wayward Bus that has a good Melbourne-Adelaide trip ($395) and also a Melbourne-Sydney trip ($395) that runs via the Snowy Mountains, Canberra and the Blue Mountains.
Autopia also runs several excellent day trips from Melbourne that are worth considering if you don’t have your own car. These include Phillip Island ($109), Great Ocean Road ($105), the Grampians National Park ($99) and the Yarra Valley wineries ($99).
