Billabong Sanctuary

Castle Hill
The lookout at the summit of Castle Hill offers great views of Townsville. Some hostels operate trips up here although it is more rewarding to hike up the steep trail to the top.

The Strand Night Craft Market (Strand Park, Townsville; open 1st Fri May-Dec 5pm-9.30pm) on Townsville’s beach features entertainment and food.
The Flinders Mall Cotters Market (Flinders Mall, Townsville; open Sun 8am-1pm) claims to be North Queensland’s largest arts and craft market.
Museum of Tropical Queensland
The Museum of Tropical Queensland is an excellent new museum, which is situated next door to Reef HQ and focuses on the history and nature of North Queensland.
