AIR
Townsville Airport is 5km north of the city centre and has regular flights to Brisbane and Cairns.
BUS
Townsville is an important hub with many travellers stopping here to transfer between the coastal Brisbane-Cairns route and the inland route between Townsville and the Northern Territory. Greyhound (tel 1300 473 946) buses arrive at and depart from the Sunferries Breakwater Terminal on Sir Leslie Thiess Drive and Premier Motor Service buses stop at the Transit Centre on Plume Street in South Townsville.
TRAIN
Trains stop at the new station on Charters Towers Road, which has train departures to Brisbane and Cairns and trains running through the outback to Mount Isa.
