Arguably Australia’s top ski resort, Thredbo is a party town with 11 ski lifts and plenty of challenging runs. The village is lovely and has a European feel to it. Like any ski resort, it can be expensive, but at least you have the option of commuting in from Jindabyne or even Cooma if you can’t afford to stay here. Outside the ski season, Thredbo is a useful base for hiking in Mount Kosciuszko.
