Stanthorpe
This small town near the border with New South Wales is a popular spot with backpackers who come here for fruit picking work. Stanthorpe is around 1000m above sea level and it has a much cooler climate than elsewhere in Queensland, supporting 35 wineries in the surrounding countryside.
