Proserpine

Proserpine is a busy town serving the region’s sugar cane farms and it stands in sharp contrast to energetic Airlie Beach.

There’s no backpackers’ accommodation here, but it is the main transport hub of the Whitsunday region and many backpackers pass through here en route to Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands.
