Port Kenny & Venus Bay

Port Kenny lies on Venus Bay and the little town that was established at the start of the 19th century gets its economic input from agriculture and tourism. The town is quite dull and there’s little to do, but the surrounding waters have some good spots for fishing and Venus Bay is nearby.

However Venus Bay isn’t gigantic either, with a population of only around 500 people, but it’s a popular base for surfers heading for the beaches. Venus Bay can get crowded during the peak season and there’s not much infrastructure in town, just a few eateries, a surf shop and a caravan park. The backpacker accommodation is very good though, a few kilometres away from Port Kenny and Venus Bay at Coodlie Park.
