The area where the Adelaide River crosses the Arnhem Highway is popular with travellers stopping en route to Kakadu and it is also a popular daytrip from Darwin, only 70km away.
The popular river cruises allow you to see crocodiles in their natural habitat.
This excellent information centre has exhibits about the flora and fauna of the wetlands in the Top End.

There are several companies that operate cruises departing from the Windows on the Wetlands Visitor Centre and from the Adelaide River Bridge.
These include the Adelaide River Queen (tel (08) 8988 8144) and Jumping Crocodile (tel (08) 8988 4547). A 90- minute cruise costs from $25 to $30.
