This small resort town is the most popular destination in the Gippsland Lakes and can get very busy in the middle of summer. Lakes Entrance has a fantastic location on the lakes within easy access to ocean beaches.

Coming & going
Premier Motor Service (tel 13 34 10) buses stop in Lakes Entrance on the coastal route between Melbourne and Sydney. V/line (tel 13 61 96) has buses to Batemans Bay, Canberra and Bairnsdale, where you can connect with trains to Melbourne. Buses stop at the V/line stop next to the post office.
