This small town is a pleasant enough place to stop on the long drive between Townsville and Mount Isa. A lot of dinosaur fossils have been found in the region between Hughenden and Mount Isa and a Muttaburrasauras skeleton is on display at the dinosaur centre behind the visitor information centre on Gray Street.
