This small village north of Lakes Entrance is best known for the Buchan Caves, which feature impressive limestone formations.

Coming & Going

Buchan Bus n’ Freight (tel (03) 5155 0356) operate a daily bus to Lakes Entrance and Bairnsdale. It departs from the Buchan General Store. Buchan Bus n’ Freight also run day trips from Lakes Entrance that cost $50.

Buchan Caves

The Buchan Caves comprise several caves with limestone formations. The most visited is Fairy Cave, which is known for its elaborate stalactites and stalagmites. You can often see kangaroos and lyrebirds in the reserve surrounding the caves.
