Bairnsdale doesn’t have a lot to offer apart from being the largest town near the Gippsland Lakes. Bairnsdale makes a good base for exploring the lakes and it is big enough to have good supermarkets and camping supplies stores.

Coming & Going
Premier Motor Service (tel 13 34 10) buses stop at the BP service station on the Princes Highway on the coastal route between Melbourne and Sydney.
V/line (tel 13 61 96) has train services to Melbourne and buses to Canberra and Batemans Bay. The train station is on Macleod Street.
