The Top End
Australia’s Top End juts northward into the Arafura and Timor Seas. Its magnificent scenery includes escarpments, gorges and broad wetlands that experience a spectacular tropical summer season (Oct-May), when monsoon rains bring on a renewal of lush vegetation; and the cooler dry season (May-Sep), when it’s the best time to pursue outdoor activities.
The Top End’s two big attractions are Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks.
