Aquascene

Darwin’s most unique and fun attraction involves feeding the fish that arrive at each high tide at a small bay in Doctors Gully at the northern end of the city centre. Thousands of milkfish, mullet, catfish and barramundi as well as stingrays come to be handfed.

Crocodylus Park

This popular wildlife park is home to a variety of Australian wildlife with an emphasis on crocodiles.

Fannie Bay Gaol

Fannie Bay Gaol is a former prison that has been turned into a museum. It provides an insight into the early Northern Territory penal system.

Museum & Art Gallery of the Northern Territory

This is an excellent museum with exhibits focusing on the cultural, social and natural history of the Northern Territory. Some of the better displays include the Aboriginal Art Gallery, exhibits on Cyclone Tracy and a five-metre crocodile named ‘Sweetheart’.

Northern Territory Parliament House

Australia’s newest parliament house is an imposing modern building at the southern end of Mitchell Street. Guided tours are conducted on Saturdays.

Territory Wildlife Park

Run by the NT Parks & Wildlife Commission, this accessible wildlife park features 6km of walking trails as well as an excellent collection of native animals.
