Airlie Beach is small enough to walk around but Whitsunday Transit (tel (07) 4946 1800) operates a local bus service that connects it to the neighbouring towns of Cannonvale and Shute Harbour. Buses run about every half hour and cost $2.05 one-way ($3.85 return) between Airlie Beach and the shopping centre in Cannonvale. The $8.50 all day pass includes unlimited travel on all Whitsunday Transit services including buses to Proserpine.
