Most Greyhound (tel 1300 473 946) and Premier Motor Service buses running between Brisbane and Cairns stop in Airlie Beach dropping off on Shute Harbour Road in the centre of town.


The nearest airport and train station is at Proserpine. Whitsunday Transit (tel (07) 4946 1800) run buses to Airlie Beach that meet flights and train services. The one-way fare from the Proserpine train station is $8.20 and it costs $15 to get to Airlie Beach from Whitsunday Coast Airport. There’s another airport at nearby Hamilton Island; but the ferry transfer costs $51.


Fantasea ferries (tel (07) 4946 5111) run between Shute Harbour and Hamilton Island, Long Island and South Molle Island. The ferry to Hamilton Island costs $41 each way.
